Our Latte Macchiato recipe

The latte macchiato is a must in the coffee world. If the recipe is quite simple, it will certainly impress your most demanding guests. We explain it all to you.
What is a Latte Macchiato ?
A latte macchiato is made of several elements : milk, milk foam, and espresso. The quantities may change, but this drink is usually served in a transparent glass (prefererably double-walled), in order to highlight the successive layers. This is one of most popular recipes in coffee shops around the world, and for good reason! It combines the natural sweetness of milk with the character of coffee.

We advise you to make the foam with fresh whole milk, because it is firmer than the foam made with semi-skimmed milk!
Ingredients
- 34 cl of whole milk or semi-skimmed milk, well chilled
- 1 espresso
Material
- 1 espresso machine, manual or automatic and/or 1 milk frother
- 1 small measuring jug
- 1 stainless steel pitcher
- 1 large double-walled glass
Preparation
- Step 1 Pour an espresso into the small measuring jug.
- Step 2 Put the milk in the stainless stell pitcher and froth it up with the steam nozzle of you manual espresso machine or a milk frother.
- Step 3 Mix your milk preparation and milk foam.
- Step 4 Pour this milk and milk foam into your double-walled glass.
- Step 5 Gently pour your espresso into the center of your glass, while turning the glass to reveal the successive layers.
- Step 6 Taste your preparation once the recipe is finished.
