Summer is officially here and the heat is overwhelming. To keep you caffeinated under the blazing sun, here is MaxiCoffee’s shows you how to make cold brew coffee recipe! Let’s try this classic summer drink that will make you rediscover your favourite beverage!
What is Cold Brew Coffee ?
Cold brew or cold-brewed coffee is a slow coffee brewing method. The principle is quite simple. You just have to let your coffee ground brew in a large quantity of water for at least 12 hours, sometimes even longer. Don’t mix it up with your typical ice coffee, though! Ice coffee is made by brewing hot coffee, usually with a filter coffee method, to then chilling it either by refrigerating it or pouring it over ice. Ice coffees are usually weaker and less flavourful than cold-brewed coffee. As with all extraction methods, the choice of coffee is up to you and will make all the difference. In order to obtain a harmonious drink, and to avoid the bitterness caused by over-extraction, it is best to use coarsely ground coffee. Ideally, we recommend lightly roasted coffees with floral or yellow fruit notes to bring out the full subtlety of these aromas and give your summer drink an extra refreshing touch.
